That Gory Animated Film Conclusion That Lingers Audiences

Among every mature animated films I’ve ever viewed, no other has lingered in my mind quite like the fear-filled conclusion of a graphically gory as well as highly provocative film from 2022 The Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, the Spain-based filmmaker created a dark, melancholy , often savage world with several minor , forlorn glimmers of optimism.

Although Unicorn Wars feels like it originated from a desire to push the medium even more, the filmmaker stated that it was actually an attempt to express a widespread, cross-cultural message concerning “the shared root of each battle.”

That message is conveyed through a group of brightly hued teddy bears , clearly modeled after a popular series of cuddly figures.

Being raised in a society focused on aggression and the defense industry, a lot of these creatures are obsessed with exterminating the mythical beasts, due to a religious scripture which states them they were once rulers of the forest, before the horned beings expelled them.

Some haven’t fully fallen for the propaganda, and choose to try out drugs or fornicate outdoors.

In contrast to their cuddly equivalents, these colorful critters have visible sexual organs , definite sex drives.

For a certain particularly cruel, cynical bear, the character Bluey, the battle against the unicorns becomes a route toward dominance — and specifically to authority over his softer, kinder brother the bear Tubby.

Bluey acts as a tormentor and an apparent psychopath , and when terror overcomes his group and kills his fellow soldiers individually, he seizes increasingly power for himself, through ever more bloody, damaging approaches.

Simultaneously, the horned creatures are enduring their own horror, through a spreading, destructive monster in their forest.

“Initially, it seems like a humorous movie,” the filmmaker stated. “Yet it evolves into a more serious and sad movie. And in the finale, it transforms into a scary feature.”

The Unicorn Wars begins feeling a bit like one of the most whimsical movies from an iconic filmmaker, that uncover a mischievous joy in allowing animated figures swear, fire weapons, or have intimate relations.

Subsequently it turns into closer to a darker movie from that artist, featuring progressively graphic violence and a tangible link to the real tragedy of war.

Ultimately, it becomes a full-on Grand Guignol massacre.

The terror which makes the film a Halloween-friendly viewing starts well before than indicated.

Unicorn Wars is ideal for the most dedicated lovers of violence, for fans of extreme cinema who desire to view something they’ve never seen on-screen before, and can endure a story that offers unflinching brutality.

View it with the lights off free from interruptions, and the conclusion will dig deep within you and stay with you.
